Congrats to PhD Student Cassie Ettinger

Cassie Ettinger, a PhD student in my lab in the IGGGG (Integrated Genetics and Genomics Greduate Group) presented a poster on our seagrass microbiome work at the IGGGGGGGGG annual meeting on Monday. And she won the “People’s Choice” award for the poster. Good job.

I am an evolutionary biologist and a Professor at U. C. Davis. (see my lab site here). My research focuses on the origin of novelty (how new processes and functions originate). To study this I focus on sequencing and analyzing genomes of organisms, especially microbes and using phylogenomic analysis
