Genomics and Evolution of Symbioses

My lab has done a lot of work on the genomics of symbioses – in particular of bacteria that are found in close associations with plants and animals.  Originally and still some of the time our work has focused on single symbionts at a time, especially those that can be cultured.  Example publications on such specific symbioses (as opposed to studies of whole microbiomes) are given below.
