Early DOE Microbial Genomes

The Eisen lab was involved in sequencing and analyzing many microbial genomes in the “early” days of microbial genomics as part of a large grant to TIGR from the Department of Energy to sequence and analyze microbes of DOE relevance.

Eisen led projects to sequence and analyze the genomes of the following organisms as part of this:

  • Methylococcus capsulatus
  • Chlorobium tepidum

We also collaborated on the sequence analysis of multiple other genomes including

  • Deinococcus radiodurans
  • Thermotoga maritima
  • Shewanella oneidensis
  • Geobacter sulfurreducens
  • Desulfovibrio vulgaris
  • Dehalococcoides ethenogenes
