Preliminary chemistry data from Coral Pond #1

Since we’ve stopped sampling I went ahead and graphed out all the water chemistry data from Coral Pond #1.   Feeback, thoughts, comments etc. are welcome!

  1. Interesting to see how things change whenever you change the contents of the tank. Just a couple of questions. Is the skimmer the filtration system? And what are the units on the y-axes for the the graphs below salinity?

    1. The skimmer is a protein skimmer. It’s a filtration system that works by agitating the water, then skimming off the foam (like the stuff in the wave at the beach) which is mostly nitrogenous wastes. Good point about the units on the y-axes… it’s different in each case.
