Author: Jonathan Eisen

I am an evolutionary biologist and a Professor at U. C. Davis. (see my lab site here). My research focuses on the origin of novelty (how new processes and functions originate). To study this I focus on sequencing and analyzing genomes of organisms, especially microbes and using phylogenomic analysis

  1. I get 3 of these a day, at least. Maybe we should have a public “opt out page” where scientists who do not wish to be approached by ANY (new?) publisher are listed, making all those who spam us liable according to spam laws in various countries (spammers must compensate spam recipient by 200$-500$ plus pay a large fine, in Israel, for example).
